- Collections Manager
Description
The Collections Manager assists the Registrar with the documentation and care of the museum's permanent collection. The Collections Manager's responsibilities include cataloguing new acquisitions and incoming loans, assisting with the creation of acquisition files and digitizing incoming acquisitions. The Collections Manager works with the Registrar to monitor environmental conditions and implement the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Policy. Reports to the Registrar. Works independently to complete projects on time with quality results.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in museum studies, History, Public History, or related field required.
Experience working in a museum, historical society, historic site, or similar institution.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current museum standards and best practices for collections care. documentation, and cataloguing.
Experience with the handling, cataloguing, and moving of artifacts.
