Job SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Language Pathologist to provide therapy services to patients ranging from toddlers to the elderly in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role involves thorough assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of speech and swallowing therapy to support patient progress effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic evaluations for speech, language, and swallowing disorders, including hearing screenings.
- Prepare detailed reports of evaluations with recommendations for treatment.
- Deliver direct speech and swallowing therapy following a physician's plan of care, documenting patient responses.
- Maintain accurate records such as evaluations, care plans, and daily therapy notes.
- Collaborate with other services to coordinate therapy programs.
- Demonstrate therapy techniques to caregivers and responsible persons assisting patients.
- Supervise and guide assistants involved in speech and swallowing therapy to ensure quality care.
- Provide counseling to patients and families regarding speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Reassess patient progress regularly and adjust therapy plans as needed.
- Refer patients to appropriate community resources and therapy programs.
- Promote awareness of speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders through staff education and community outreach.
- Maintain liaison and follow-up with community agencies to support patient care.
- Apply clinical judgment and specialized skills tailored to patient age and diagnosis.
- Bachelor's degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences or a related field.
- Master's degree (M.A., M.S., or M.A.T.) in Speech Language Pathology.
- Preferred: At least one year of clinical experience; however, candidates completing their Clinical Fellowship (CF) are encouraged to apply.
- Current or in-progress state licensure relevant to the region.
- Current or pursuing the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, day shift.
This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
