Phillips Family Orthodontics is growing, and we’re looking for the right person to join our front desk team!
This is a patient-facing role that sets the tone for every visit. You’re often the first voice a family hears and the last face they see on their way out. Our practice is deeply rooted in the communities of Encinitas and Mira Mesa, and we’ve built our reputation on trust, transparency, and genuinely positive patient experiences. (We encourage you to explore our online reviews to get a sense of who we are and how we care for patients and each other!)
If you’re warm, organized, and energized by helping people feel welcome and taken care of, you will love it here.
What You’ll Do You’ll manage the flow of the front desk and ensure every family leaves feeling informed and supported. Day to day, you are a steady, upbeat presence. You notice details, you follow through, and you keep things moving without sacrificing the personal touch that makes a patient feel like more than just a name on the schedule.
- Greet patients warmly and check them in and out.
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and manage communications.
- Schedule and confirm appointments efficiently.
- Keep the reception area welcoming and organized.
- Support the clinical team by managing the daily schedule flow.
What We’re Looking For We value personality, reliability, and genuine warmth more than a long résumé.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in orthodontics, dentistry, or customer-facing healthcare is preferred, but we are happy to train the right person!
- Communication: You communicate clearly and professionally, both in person and on the phone.
- Work Ethic: You are comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment, operate with honesty and good judgment, and don't let details fall through the cracks.
- Logistics: Reliable transportation is required, as this role splits time equally between our Encinitas and Mira Mesa locations.
Why This Role Matters The front desk isn’t just administrative; it’s the heartbeat of the patient experience. You’re the reason a nervous kid feels comfortable walking in, and the reason a parent leaves confident that their family is in good hands.
How to Apply If you’re looking for a role where your people skills matter, your integrity is valued, and your work makes a real difference in your community, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit a current résumé and two to three professional references.
