This is a school-based travel Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (SLP-CF) assignment located in Lancaster, South Carolina, a close-knit community with a welcoming, small-town feel and easy access to the greater Charlotte metropolitan area. Lancaster offers a relaxed lifestyle with a blend of historic charm, local parks, and family-friendly activities. Residents enjoy a slower pace of life with convenient access to shopping, dining, and outdoor recreation, while still being within driving distance of larger city amenities.The position is a full academic-year contract running from 7/27 through 5/27/2027, offering consistent school-based experience for the entirety of the Clinical Fellowship. The role is based in an elementary school setting serving students in kindergarten through 5th grade. The typical caseload is approximately 40–45 students, providing a manageable and diverse range of needs that supports both clinical growth and quality of care.This is an onsite-only position; teletherapy is not available. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with an expected 37.5 hours per week. The candidate will only be paid for hours actually worked, and will not be paid during school holidays, closures for teacher workdays, or inclement weather days. The school calendar includes scheduled breaks during the academic year, such as early October, late November, late December through early January, mid-February, and late March through early April, providing periodic downtime and opportunities for rest and travel.In this role, you will provide speech and language services to K–5 students, including screening, evaluation, and intervention for a variety of communication needs. You will develop and implement individualized treatment plans, contribute to individualized education programs (IEPs), track progress, and collaborate with teachers and families to support students’ success in the classroom. The caseload will include articulation, language, and other communication disorders typically seen in a school-based population, giving you broad exposure to common pediatric speech-language needs.A typical day will involve a mix of direct therapy sessions, consultation with teachers, documentation, and participation in team meetings. You can expect a structured schedule aligned with the school day, providing regular routines and predictable hours. The school setting emphasizes collaboration and student-centered care, offering the opportunity to build strong professional relationships within a supportive educational environment.
Required Qualifications
Speech/Language Pathologist, Clinical Fellowship School
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working in a School Setting, Early Childhood, or Pediatrics
Strong Knowledge of Speech and Language Development, Assessment tools, and therapeutic techniques.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, parents, and community members.
Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with federal and state regulations
