As a Speech Language Pathologist in the dazzling city of Los Angeles, you will not only help clients tackle communication and swallowing disorders but also contribute to their emotional and social well-being. Your role will empower everyone from young children stumbling over their first words to older adults regaining their independence and confidence. Whether your passion lies in nurturing pediatric speech development, aiding adults navigating neurogenic communication challenges, or supporting seniors with cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, LA offers you a landscape filled with rewarding opportunities and the flexibility to excel in your niche. Conduct evaluations for diverse age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, utilizing standardized assessments and observations. Craft individualized treatment plans aimed at fulfilling both immediate goals and long-term communication or swallowing needs. Deliver tailored one-on-one speech therapy interventions that emphasize communication, language fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Provide education to patients and families that empowers them to continue progress in their communication journey beyond clinical sessions. Participate in inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to maintain continuity of care throughout treatment. Keep accurate documentation that meets state, federal, and organizational standards. Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay at the forefront of the field. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for candidates not yet ASHA certified. Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred accreditation includes the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Acquisition of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment commencement. Knowledge of evidence-based treatment practices across all age groups, with a robust understanding of developmental as well as acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal communication capabilities with patients, families, and collaborative care teams. Ability to modify therapy techniques to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Robust clinical judgment and adept problem-solving skills. Familiarity with electronic medical records and compliance with documentation protocols. Attractive compensation reflective of experience and qualifications. Flexible work schedules to promote a healthy work-life balance with varied patient loads. Options for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics. Generous paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay. Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans. Financial assistance for continuing education and support for professional advancement. A collaborative work environment emphasizing teamwork and quality care. A Life-changing Career Awaits You In this role, you will do more than administer speech therapy — you will actively engage in a community mission that cherishes communication and fosters connections, celebrating each moment that bridges understanding. You'll join a team that feels more like family than colleagues, all working toward a common goal in a supportive atmosphere that thrives on collaboration, not competition. Each patient carries a unique story, and we trust you to be a vital part of shaping narratives of resilience and recovery.
