Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational program.
- Completed Clinical Fellowship Year and current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) from ASHA.
- Active South Carolina state SLP license required to start the assignment.
- BLS certification required.
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) required.
- Experience working in acute hospital settings required.
- Ability to float between inpatient rehabilitation and acute care units as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- FEES certification and demonstrated experience performing FEES preferred.
- Prior acute care and inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours: 0800–1630.
- 8-hour shifts with flexible start/stop times as needed.
- Expectation of one weekend per month with option to flex a weekday in lieu of the weekend.
- Caseload: typically 5–6 rehab patients seen 3–5x/week plus variable acute care caseload; occasional outpatient modifieds (1–2 per week).
- Documentation system: Meditech.
- Equipment: FEES available.

Impacting Patient Care Nationwide
Provide skilled assessment and treatment for patients with communication and swallowing disorders across inpatient rehabilitation and acute care settings. Your work will support stroke care and interdisciplinary rehabilitation efforts. Documentation and procedures will follow facility protocols and use Meditech. Certification and competency in MBSS and FEES will enable independent practice and improved patient outcomes.
