About the PositionJoin our team as a travel Speech-Language Pathologist in Mesquite, TX at a Long Term Acute Care Hospital. You will provide assessment and treatment for adults with communication and swallowing disorders in an inpatient setting. This role offers hands-on clinical practice and the opportunity to support patients through recovery while experiencing a new region. Thank you for your time and responsiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational program.
- Completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
- Active Texas State SLP license required to start the assignment.
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
- Experience working in inpatient populations, such as long term acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or acute care preferred.
- Experience evaluating and treating dysphagia and post-acute medical conditions preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel SLP experience preferred.
- Experience with instrumental assessments such as FEES or modified barium swallow studies preferred.
- Familiarity with interdisciplinary team documentation and discharge planning preferred.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday with flexibility to take a weekday off and provide weekend coverage 1–2 times per month.
- May require 1–2 weekend coverage days per month.
- Assignment requires inpatient clinical practice in a long term acute care setting.
