Key Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders and develop appropriate plans of care following all regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions and evaluate treatment outcomes, modifying services and making referrals as appropriate.
• Assess and document patient progress, treatment minutes, and comprehensive discharge summaries in the electronic documentation system per regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans; participate in patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings.
• Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed; adhere to ASHA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.

Required Qualifications

• Active Missouri State Speech-Language Pathologist license.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
• Minimum of 1 year of SLP experience, or completion of at least a Level II clinical placement (new graduates with Level II experience will be considered).
• Experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience supervising CFY or student clinicians in a clinical setting.
• Familiarity with electronic documentation systems used in LTC or rehabilitation environments.
